About Us

Since 2005 the BuySmart Network has been a central hub for people in business, government and non-profit organizations to learn and share information about sustainability purchasing and supply chain management.

BuySmart works with organizations of all types ― private, public and non-profit sector ―  helping them create their own strategies to buy smarter. It’s an opportunity for progressive organizations to forge healthier, greener and socially beneficial supply chains in Canada.

Formerly known as the Sustainability Purchasing Network (SPN), BuySmart is a program of the Fraser Basin Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainability in BC and beyond.

Our Goals

Simply put, the goals of the BuySmart Network are to:

  • encourage the demand for and use of products and services that support positive social, economic and environmental impacts, and
  • help organizations meet their strategic goals through sustainable procurement.

BuySmart helps purchasers find ways to deliver value, innovate and support the sustainability and corporate social responsibility commitments of their organizations.
