Programs & Services

The BuySmart Network is a non-profit educational network that serves individuals and organizations interested in sustainability purchasing. How so?

  • We’re a resource centre. BuySmart highlights opportunities to reduce costs, inefficiencies, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, waste and toxins through procurement. One focus is on building a library of tools and resources to minimize your research time. You’ll find useful ideas and links in our Resource Centre.
  • We’re a learning hub. Join other practitioners in one of our learning events to examine best practices in sustainability purchasing and to compare notes on success stories, lessons learned, current challenges and opportunities. Training can also be arranged and customized for your workplace: See Learning Events.
  • We’re the place for advice. Take advantage of BuySmart’ advisory services.  We can offer options and expert advice for integrating sustainability purchasing into your organization in a way that meets your goals. Learn about our Advisory Services.

The vision of the BuySmart Network is for organizations in all sectors to recognize sustainable purchasing as smart purchasing and to make it integral to their operations.

Reach Us

BuySmart is a program of the Fraser Basin Council (FBC), a charitable non-profit society that advances sustainability in the Fraser River Basin, across BC, and beyond. Established in 1997, FBC brings people together from multiple sectors to learn about sustainability and find collaborative solutions to current issues.
