Take advantage of Network Training Workshops and Learning Circles to acquire valuable information and techniques to start or deepen your organization's practices in sustainability purchasing. Qualified facilitators will lead you through interactive discussions, case studies, and strategic problem-solving exercises on a variety of sustainability purchasing topics.
Workshops
Workshops are typically a half-day morning event that includes networking breakfast and lunch. Although they are structured to provide content and speakers, the focus is toward sharing the purchasing practices, successes and challenges of the participants in the room.
25-September-2008: Integrating Sustainability Into Purchasing
Learn how to integrate social and environmental concerns into purchasing. Participants work with the tools (specifications, questionnaires, contract clauses) to request information from suppliers, and methods to evaluate and measure impacts.
20-November-2008: Sustainable Fleets and Fuels
Learning Circles
Learning circles create an opportunity for purchasers to engage in a small group dialogue with their peers. They are free events that run for 1-1/2 hours in the morning. Participants arrive prepared to discuss their organization's purchasing practices and challenges on specific topics.
9-October-2008: Purchasing Responsible Electronics (10am-12pm)
4-December-2008: Advanced Practitioners (Invitation only - 10am-12pm)
