About UsSince 2005 the BuySmart Network has been a central hub for people in business, government and non-profit organizations to learn and share information about sustainability purchasing and supply chain management. BuySmart works with organizations of all types ― private, public and non-profit sector ― helping them create their own strategies to buy smarter. It’s an opportunity for progressive organizations to forge healthier, greener and socially beneficial supply chains in Canada. Formerly known as the Sustainability Purchasing Network (SPN), BuySmart is a program of the Fraser Basin Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainability in BC and beyond. BuySmart helps purchasers find ways to deliver value, innovate and support the sustainability and corporate social responsibility commitments of their organizations. Who Participates in BuySmart?The BuySmart Network hosts a number of learning events open to all individuals and organizations with an interest in sustainability purchasing. BuySmart draws together co-operatives, business associations, not-for-profits, governments (Federal, Provincial, Local and First Nations), labour organizations, public sector organizations and academic institutions. Attendees at learning events include purchasers, supply chain managers, office managers, sustainability or corporate social responsibility professionals, policy advisors, fleet managers and suppliers of products and services.
